faq

  • Once you select a unit, we’ll give you a quick call to confirm a few details about your home and the installation. We may ask for some photos to make sure everything is properly set up—checking gas line sizes, venting locations, and space requirements and location. If we think the job needs an in-person visit before installation, we’ll schedule that first. Otherwise, for straightforward installs, we’ll book your installation as soon as possible and handle everything from start to finish.

  • That’s exactly why we do the home visit. If a home visit is required, we’ll work with you to find the right solution. If we discover that a different size or model is a better fit, we’ll explain why and adjust your options before anything is installed. You’re never locked into the wrong system.

  • Yes. Because we’re a local company and not a big box store, we keep things flexible. You can transfer your rental to a new homeowner if you sell, or buy out the equipment at any time using the agreed buyout schedule—no hidden hoops or corporate red tape.

  • If the problem is with the rental equipment itself, it’s fully covered—parts, labour, and repairs. That’s the main benefit of renting: if the unit goes down, we fix or replace it at no cost to you. If the issue is something outside the equipment, like your home’s plumbing, electrical, or HVAC systems, that would be billed separately. However, as a Tasmont Home Service rental customer, you can still take advantage of our exclusive Rental Customer Perks, which apply only to plumbing and HVAC services, and may help with those specific home service needs beyond your rental equipment.

  • Yes. Removal and disposal of your old equipment is included as part of the installation.

  • In many cases, yes. If we have the unit in stock and the install is straightforward, we can often complete the job the same day or next business day. Our goal is to make the process as easy as possible for you, so we’ll work around your schedule whenever we can. We’ll coordinate timing that fits your day and keep you updated every step of the way to ensure a smooth, stress-free installation.

  • There’s no one-size-fits-all answer—it depends on what you value.

    • Renting is best if you want predictable monthly costs, no repair bills, and peace of mind. We handle service and maintenance so you don’t have to worry about surprise expenses.

    • Purchasing is best if you prefer to own your equipment outright and manage service yourself over time.

We offer both because different people want different things. We’ll clearly explain both options over the phone or online so you can decide what makes the most sense for you.

  • As a Tasmont rental customer, you get exclusive benefits on other home services:

    • $84.99/hour discounted labour rate (Mon–Fri, 9–5) for any unrelated plumbing or HVAC issues

    • No truck charges

    • No two‑man charges unless the work physically requires two people

    • 10% discount on fixtures, equipment, and materials purchased through Tasmont Home Services

    • Priority service response for rental customers

These perks are our way of saying thanks for trusting us with your home comfort.

  • With most “rent to own” programs, you’re really just financing the equipment. They install it, then the responsibility starts to shift back to you. Repairs, parts, and reliability often become your problem; or you’re pushed into extra service plans.

    With Tasmont rentals, it’s different.

    We own the equipment.
    We install it.
    We service it.
    We fix it.
We replace it if it fails.

Home comfort equipment always has issues over time. Something will fail eventually. With a true rental, that’s our problem, not yours. “Rent to own” puts that risk back on the homeowner.

You’re not paying for a tank. You’re paying to never worry about it again.

Clear Terms. Local Techs. No Hidden Fees.
